shape of flight

size: 2,000 SF

scope: installation

location: warehouse in Central Falls, RI

year:  2014

concept: created in response to the question, 'What is the future of flight?', this temporary fabric and light installation attempts to create the experience of unencumbered flight.

Inspired by the weightless moment of takeoff, the installation beckons viewers to enter between two continuous planes of fabric.  Starting from a constrained, vertical position, the fabric twists to reveal a seemingly limitless expanse.

The installation proposes that instead of being a means of transportation, flying is in fact the destination.
